Veracruz, Ver., October 21st, 2014.- Fundación Silogiat together with sailors from the Royal Canadian Navy and with the support of the Embassy of Canada, made efforts to rehabilitate façades some houses in the neighborhood of the Huaca, as part social work performed both entities.

AC Silogiat Foundation, formed by veracruzanos concerned with society, aims to support on issues of care, education and ecology. This time he has developed an important link to the Canadian Embassy in activities being developed for the Veracruz community and the Municipal Government in its area of Government efforts. Due to the visit of the warship of the Royal Canadian Navy “HMCS Athabaskan” for the celebration of the 70 years of relations between Mexico and Canada. The Silogiat Foundation, managed to be chosen by the Canadian Embassy to host about 30 sailors in order to support the realization of social welfare activities in the region.

Canadian sailors with staff of Silogiat and Embassy of Canada Foundation were greeted with warmth by the inhabitants of the Patio “San Manuel” the popular neighborhood of “La Huaca” starting work very early and putting great effort into activities scraping façade patching, plastering and painting. On the same site was present Her Excellency. Ms. Sara Hradecky, Canadian Ambassador to Mexico, who in the same way joined the great work of the marina, taking brush in hand and applying sealant and paint for facades which merited.
During this work was support the rehabilitation of 10 homes and part of the infrastructure of the patio.
The Ambassador of Canada commented: “This experience has allowed us to witness the vitality of La Huaca and historical significance. We are happy to be here. It has been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to interact with La Huaca. ”
Fundación Silogiat, extends gratitude to the Embassy of Canada, the Royal Canadian Navy “HMCS Athabaskan” and the City of Veracruz, for their different expressions of support and expresses its satisfaction with the residents of Barrio de la Huaca, particularly with the housing assembly Patio San Manuel, who gave us the opportunity to serve.
